Cholodenko is a composer of eclectic taste and signature style. His music tends to turn inward, to introspection of inner emotional and psychological experience. Inspirations include time and memory, the experience of reality, nature, extremes, classical mythology, and identity.

His music has been performed, read, and recorded across the United States and internationally by chamber ensembles such as JACK Quartet, HUB New Music, Momenta Quartet, Switch Ensemble, Arx Duo, CreArtBoxNYC, TEMPO Ensemble, and Bent Frequency among many more. His Orchestral collaborations include The Lexington Symphony, The New England Philharmonic, the Columbia Civic Orchestra, the Frost Symphony Orchestra, the New England Conservatory Philharmonia, the FSU University Orchestra, the University of Missouri Kansas City Symphony, and the Conservatory Orchestra at Brooklyn College. His work has been featured as part of Composers Now, Red Note, June in Buffalo, FSU Festival of New Music, Mizzou New Music Initiative, among other events and festivals. His work has earned recognition by the American Viola Society, The Art Music Society, NewEar, The Society of Composers, Creatives Rebuild New York and other organizations in various calls, competitions, and grants. He has held residencies at Kimmel Harding Nelson and Atlantic Center for the Arts. Cholodenko currently studies with composer Michael Gandolfi at the doctoral level. Prior mentorship includes Chen Yi and Zhou Long, with viola and chamber music studies with Masao Kawasaki and Ursula Oppens.
