1/25/2022 ~ Mizzou New Music Initiative, as part of the Missouri Composer’s Project, has selected “Mountains in the Distance” as the open orchestral category winner for the 2022 call for scores.
1/2/2022 ~ “Mountains in the Distance” has been selected for the 2021 Gerald Kemner Prize for orchestral writing and is scheduled to be premiered by the University of Missouri-Kansas City Symphony Orchestra in March 2022.
10/19/2021 ~ Cholodenko has been selected as an associate artist in residence at Atlantic Center For the Arts for a 2022 residency.
7/21/2021 ~ “Adrenaline” arranged for Alto Sax, Cello, Piano, and Percussion will be premiered by Bent Frequency as part of the Charlotte New Music festival.
5/25/2021 ~ Cholodenko will present an analysis of the film score to the 2013 film Under the Skin, entitled “Empathy, Symbolism, and Synchresis in Under the Skin,” at the London Centre for Interdisciplinary Research Conference on Film Studies, “The Anatomy of Cinematic Identities.” The paper will be subsequently published in IDEA journal.

12/9/2020 ~ “Chasing Memory” for Flute, Clarinet, Violin, and Cello selected to be premiered by HUB New Music Ensemble during their digital residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Performance in February 2021.
8/8/2020 ~ [Cancelled/Postponed] Cholodenko to attend the Sao Paulo Contemporary Composer’s Festival in October 2020 and write a new work for String Quartet + Double Bass to be performed and recorded by Quarteto Larianna & Pedro Gadelha.
